This is my favorite place to get tofu stew in the San Francisco area! Although it's not that well known, their tofu stew is so so good and not as busy as other places, so you don't have to worry about waiting. The restaurant itself is huge and pretty clean. The workers are really nice and it's a great place for comfort food.
I usually order the beef tofu stew with the rice. While you wait for your food, they bring out a bunch of side dishes. I loove the japchae, bean sprouts, and the potato. They're all so addicting and I have to stop myself from eating so much of them or else I'll get too full! The tofu stew comes out super hot and bubbling in about 15 minutes. They also give you a raw egg, which I usually crack into the stew and then stir it around a bit so it cooks. Be careful when taking that first sip of the stew, it's usually super hot! The tofu stew here always has good flavor and tastes so good with the rice. It's definitely one of my favorite comfort foods and great for Daly City's gloomy weather! -

Cool spot my friend showed me because she was craving some black bean noodles, but apparently she hasn't been here in a long time because they no longer serve them. No fault of the restaurant. They did have old pictures up on yelp from a while back.
Either way, we ordered two tofu soups, she had kimchi and I had the regular beef, both mild. Before the soups came out, we got the typical side dishes. My friend actually ate three orders of the sweet potatoes! They were quite delicious, and I actually enjoyed their kimchi a lot but it was on the spicier side for me.
The soups came with bowls of rice, both of us opted for the brown rice. Absolutely marvelous! The soups were quite flavorful, but like complete amateurs, we ended up burning our tongues for trying to dig in too quick! Let our pain be a lesson, please wait! Other than that, the meal altogether was great, I'd return most def! -

It's a really nice neighborhood tofu house that I come to regularly! It's located in a busy neighborhood near multiple plaza and shopping centers so parking is really convenient!
I'd say their menus are diverse and just about what you would expect from any typical Korean restaurants. I had the Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap and the Spicy Tofu Soup with Spam, Corn, and Cheese. It was delicious but unfortunately, I had trouble tasting or finding any cheese! For the other cheese and spam tofu soups I've tried in the past, there's usually slices or chunks of cheese that would settle at the bottom, creating a creamy texture and adds to the tasty soup, but I just couldn't taste the cheese at all here. It didn't take away from the eating experience, but definitely would've appreciated the cheese since it is marketed as cheese corn and spam tofu soup on the menu!
The Banchan is refillable and they gave really good portions! I also recommend getting the purple rice with your soup! It's crunchy and popping when eaten with the soup! I believe it's also healthier! -

Awesome and authentic Korean food!
This place was packed on a Friday night so do come early! My party and I ordered our go-tos: bibimbap, seafood soon doobu, spicy pork with the purple rice and the tteokbokki. I didn't drink the soup since it was fairly hot inside but the stews don't disappoint and they're a perfect hearty meal. Crack that egg in and mix in your rice and you got a great homey meal right in front of you!
I personally love the bibimbap because you get a good balance of carbs, protein, and vegetable. I got the one in a bowl since my rice always burns. I know you have to consistently stir the rice up but sometimes you just want to eat rather than keep reminding yourself to keep stirring your food. I also like how you can control how much sauce to put on your bibimbap, especially for those who are sensitive to spicy.
Lastly, the tteokbokki was decent here and much better than the San Bruno restaurant's version. This didn't have a strange wine after-taste and it had a bit of a spicy kick. There was a lot thick sauce left so that would've been great to add to any extra sides of rice you have or you can take it home to make an extra meal if you don't finish all the onions and such.
I almost forgot about this place but I'm glad I remembered to come back! -

After an intense hot yoga session next door...this place is sure to make you feel alive again! It's not a typical korean bbq where you get platters of All you can eat raw meet platters and cook yourself. If you're looking for that, this isn't the place for you. Instead, you can choose from a meat of your choice and it comes already cooked and seasoned. The plate is big enough to share for two.
I ended up getting the beef and tofu stew combo and splitting with my friend (had to order an extra side of rice). It was more than enough food.
There is no sauce bar, so that was disappointing. They do bring some sides, but it was kind of dry with no selection. We asked for some spicy sauce halfway through our meal, and they did have that.
We chose the tofu stew with ramen, it was amazing. One of the best tofu soups I've had.
I would definitely come back since it's very affordable if you split! Our bill was only $31 - I would just like to see more of a sauce selection!
